Preview – With the cancellation of the National 12/13yr Interprovincial tournament the Counties Manukau and Auckland teams have worked together to put in place an Interprovincial challenge for these age groups this season.

This is a start of a new era for the Interprovincial competitions and something which we are working to build on as we work towards the return of the away trips and competition.

Who is this event for – This event is for any registered Grade 12 and 13yr athlete in the Auckland Centre. Note – the junior rules apply that is athletes who are aged 12 and 13 on Dec 31st 2022.

Date – Saturday 25th March

Venue – Massey Park Papakura

Events – Individual – 60m, 100m, 300m, 1500m, 70m hurdles Girls, 80m hurdles boys, Walks, Shotput, Discus, Long Jump and High Jump.

– Relays – 4x100m, mixed 1000m sprint medley and 3.2km distance medley.

– The athletes will need to enter 3 individual events. This can either be 2 track and 1 field event or 2 field events and 1 track event. Athletes will also be involved in 1 relay team.

Event Cost – $35 per athlete

Team selection – The Counties Manukau and Auckland teams will have a selection process and forms available for the athletes to complete and submit. Athletes will need to enter personnel best’s (PB) for each of their individual events on the entry forms. These Pb’s can come from events such as the Colgate Games, Counties Manukau Junior Championship, Auckland Junior Championship and McKinnon Shield events. Athletes will need to be competing in athletic events to help with their selection.

The competition will start mid morning and go through the day. At the completion of the competition there will be dinner for the athletes as well as a prize giving at the conclusion of the day as the individual and team awards are presented to the winning team and athletes.
